Mini Ambassadors

Welcome to Mini Ambassador News

Children from Reception to Year 3 classes have formed a new group for the school called Mini Ambassadors!

Once they got to know each other, they got down to business!

They asked their friends what they liked about their school and what they would like to add or change. They reported their findings to the Governors who were very impressed.

They are now going to look at the price of outside clocks so that the children know when it is time to go to lunchtime clubs.

Their next project is to see how we can reduce the use of plastic in our school and wider community.

Mini Ambassadors Rhiwbeina Agains Plastic Campaign

We are the younger children in the school (Reception to Year 3) supporting the ECO Committee to achieve the ECO School Platinum Award.

After our successful evening where we shared with the community our project ideas, we would now like to announce the two initiatives that our families can become involved with.

1) #PACKETin

The children in year 1 and year 2 will be collecting single use crisp and biscuit wrappers from their lunchboxes. The Mini-Ambassadors (MA) will then sort them and they will be sent freepost back to the manufacturers with letters from the children asking about how they can make their products more ECO Friendly. This is part of a national campaign (Anna McMorrin -Cardiff North MP will be supporting us in this).

2) PLASTIC FANTASTIC FREE FRIDAY!

This is a school based initiative to encourage the children, staff and parents to have as little single use plastic waste as possible in their lunchboxes. The children can then take pictures of their lunchboxes, which we can add onto our website as part of the wider community project.
